Verner Art Sale Offers Venue for Artists
The South Carolina Arts Foundation has issued a call for artists to participate in the 2007 Verner Art Sale. To be considered for the sale, artists must submit their materials by Dec. 29.

Elizabeth O'Neill Governors Awards for the Arts

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Arts Foundation has issued a call for artists to participate in the 2007 Verner Art Sale. To be considered for the sale, artists must submit the following materials by Dec. 29 to Verner Art Sale, South Carolina Arts Foundation, 1800 Gervais Street, Columbia, S.C., 29201:

-  Up to ten 35-mm color slides or a CD-ROM containing up to ten images in a jpeg format with a maximum resolution at or less than 1024 x 768 pixels
-  Checklist including title, date, medium, size, price
-  Resume or bio
-  Artist statement (not to exceed 250 words)
-  Self-addressed stamped envelope for return of materials

Works included in the sale must be original and of high artistic quality; have a broad appeal; be representative of the artist’s style; not exceed $1,500 in price; and framed with appropriate hanging devices. Additional information and guidelines are available at www.SouthCarolinaArts.com.

The juried art sale is being held in conjunction with the annual Elizabeth O’Neill Verner Governor’s Awards for the Arts on Wednesday, May 2, at the Marriott Hotel, Columbia, S.C. Artists included in the 2007 Verner Art Sale will be selected by a panel composed of members of the South Carolina Arts Foundation and arts professionals.
