
COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina venues participating in Free Night of Theatre will begin reserving tickets Oct. 4. To reserve free tickets, visit www.SouthCarolinaArts.com/performing/ and click on the Free Night of Theatre logo. Then click “Find a Show” and choose either “Charleston, S.C.,” for performances in that area, or “South Carolina” for performances in other locations.
There are currently eight shows in South Carolina. They are:
Oct. 18: “Tick, Tick...Boom!” Charleston Stage, Charleston
Oct. 18: “365 Days/365 Plays,” PURE Theatre, Charleston
Oct. 18: “Things You Shouldn't Say Past Midnight,” The Footlight Players, Charleston
Oct. 18: “Gypsy: A Musical Fable,” The Village Playhouse, Mt. Pleasant
Oct. 18: “King Midas and the Miraculous Golden Touch,” The Clemson Little Theatre, Pendleton
Oct. 18: “HELP!” Travelers Rest High School, Travelers Rest
Oct. 18: “After Midnight- Before Dawn,” Wade Hampton High School, Greenville
Dec. 2: “The Dining Room,” J. L. Mann High School Academy, Greenville
Free Night of Theatre is an annual national audience development program for not-for-profit theatres sponsored by Theatre Communications Group. Since its debut in 2005, Free Night has increased in scope and participation each year. The 2007 program will take place in 25-30 communities (increased from 16 in 2006), with the goal to expand individual theatre participation to over 500 theatres, which will in turn offer as many as 50,000 free tickets nationally.
