Press Release:

This week’s new video on the SC Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum’s YouTube Channel features Registrar Rachel Cockrell discussing several WWI objects donated by Robert Brown.  Brown’s grandfather, Robert Tillman Brown, was a native of Sumter and collected these objects during the war.

The museum incorporated many of these artifacts into the new exhibit “Forgotten Stories: SC Fights the Great War.”  The items featured in the video were not included in the exhibit.

The museum’s site video can be accessed by visiting www.crr.sc.gov/videos or http://www.youtube.com/SCCRRMM. After creating a free YouTube account visitors choose to subscribe to the channel by clicking the “Subscribe” button in the top right hand corner of the page. New videos will be added regularly.

Founded in 1896, the SC Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum is the oldest museum in the Columbia area. The museum focuses on South Carolina’s military history from the Revolutionary War to the present War on Terror.
