Columbia, S.C.—The South Carolina Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum will be open Friday, May 9, in observance of Confederate Memorial Day. Visit the museum’s YouTube channel to view a video on the origins of this holiday (http://www.youtube.com/SCCRRMM).
Founded in 1896, the South Carolina Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum is the oldest museum in the Columbia area and is an agency of the South Carolina Budget and Control Board, accredited by the American Association of Museums. The museum focuses on South Carolina’s military history from the Revolutionary War to the present War on Terror.
