Columbia, S.C.—The South Carolina Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum will extend free admission to all attendees on Friday, May 18, 2007, as part of South Carolina Museum Day.   

The museum seeks to raise awareness throughout the community about the importance preserving South Carolina’s military heritage.    

Founded in 1896, the South Carolina Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum is the oldest museum in the Columbia area and is an agency of the South Carolina Budget and Control Board, accredited by the American Association of Museums. The museum focuses on South Carolina’s military history from the Revolutionary War to the present War on Terror.  For more information please contact the museum at (803)737-8095 or jcassidy@crr.sc.gov.
