Columbia, S.C. - The South Carolina Department of Commerce and the Lee County Economic Development Alliance today announced that Carolina Metal Finishing has purchased and begun renovations of the former National Guard Armory in Bishopville to become its new manufacturing facility. The company plans to invest $800,000 and create 40 new jobs.
“Paramount Metal Finishing specializes in applying coatings on metal and plastic substrates in accordance with customer or military specifications” said Mike Fuschetti, Vice President of Paramount Metal Finishing. “We apply over 50 different finishes on a regular basis and have the unique ability to plate, paint, and assemble and screen-print at one location.”
Carolina Metal Finishing, a subsidiary of Paramount Metal Finishing, applies specialty powder coatings and paints on metal and plastic components. Paramount is the approved finishing source for manufacturers of computers, office automation, and medical, electrical, military and aerospace technology equipment.
“Today’s announcement is another positive sign that our efforts to improve the state’s business climate are paying dividends. With more people working in our state than ever before, we remain committed to continuing those efforts to keep creating jobs and opportunity for the people of Lee County and all of South Carolina,” said Gov. Mark Sanford.
The company has expertise in plating, painting and powder coating of commercial, military, ASTM and aerospace specifications. Applying military specification coatings is a core competency for the manufacturer. Paramount Metal Finishing, the parent company of CMF, is an ISO: 9001 2000 registered company with many government and corporate approvals.
“We are grateful for Paramount Metal Finishing locating a facility in Bishopville,” said Mayor Thomas Alexander. “The City of Bishopville sends a welcome and congratulations on their new facility."
“This is great news for the citizens of Lee County,” said Charles Arthur Beasley, Chairman of Lee County Council. “CMF will create opportunities that will strengthen our economy and add new jobs.”
Central SC Alliance President & CEO Mike Briggs also shared thoughts saying, “We welcome Paramount Metal Finishing Company to Lee County and the Central SC Region. This is a significant relocation to South Carolina for the company and we stand ready to assist with their development going forward.”
Paramount Metal Finishing located in Linden, New Jersey has been providing State of the Art Coating Technology since 1949.
