Columbia, South Carolina …….. Brandolyn Thomas Pinkston, Administrator of the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs, is pleased to announce that Carole C. Wells of Woodruff, SC has been appointed to the Commission on Consumer Affairs by Governor Mark Sanford.
Wells, a resident of Spartanburg County for over 30 years, has made and continues to make invaluable contributions in the civic community. She was the first South Carolina Republican woman candidate for Congress as well as the first South Carolina Republican and woman to serve two consecutive four-year terms on the South Carolina Employment Security Commission. Her legislative experience includes the SC House of Representatives, the South Carolina House Women’s Caucus, the Ways and Means Committee, Budget Subcommittee and the Joint Committee on Small Business. She has volunteered with the American Red Cross, Concerned Women for America, First Monday Club, SC Economic Development Board and the SC Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve State Committee.
Pinkston stated that she is excited about Wells joining the Commission and looks forward to working with her.
