Johns Island teen health center hosts “Rock da House” open house
NORTH CHARLESTON -- The Point on Johns Island, a new health center just for teens in Charleston County, is having a, “Rock da House,” back to school open house Thursday, Aug. 27, the state Department of Health and Environmental Control reported today.

NORTH CHARLESTON -- The Point on Johns Island, a new health center just for teens in Charleston County, is having a, “Rock da House,” back to school open house Thursday, Aug. 27, the state Department of Health and Environmental Control reported today.

“We want teens to join us and see that you can have fun and learn and be healthy at the same time,” said Stephanie Friesner, DHEC’s Region 7’s family planning services program manager for Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties.

Friesner said activities will include music, prizes and a variety of organizations and resources to help teens.

“Our key focus at The Point is to help teens stay healthy. We also want to help them as they grow to adulthood,” Friesner said.

The Point is located at 3574 Maybank Highway, Johns Island. The Rock da House open house will be from 3-5 p.m.

The Point teen health center is a partnership between DHEC and Communities in Schools.
