Columbia – The SC Education Oversight Committee (EOC), in partnership with Clemson University, has released a survey that seeks the public’s attitudes and expectations for their schools and the state. The web-based “SC Educational Effectiveness Survey,” located online at www.eoc.sc.gov, is open to all South Carolina residents.
Results of the survey will be among the information used to set new statewide goals, student performance levels, and school ratings. The EOC, as a result of changes to the Education Accountability Act in June 2008, is charged with working with determining the criteria for the academic ratings schools and school districts will receive and the criteria for the student performance levels on the new state accountability test.
The on-line survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. To access the survey, go to www.eoc.sc.gov. Click on the button to participate in the “SC Survey of Educational Effectiveness.” The deadline is April 10, 2009.
The SC Education Oversight Committee is an independent, non-partisan group made up of 18 educators, business persons, and elected leaders. Created in 1998, the committee is dedicated to reporting facts, measuring change, and promoting progress within South Carolina’s education system.
