(Columbia, SC) An Easley man could be facing up to a year in prison for starting a brush fire. Forestry Commission officers Friday arrested Roger Anthony McConnell, 51, on charges of woods
arson.
Officers said that on June 6, McConnell intentionally set fire to a brush pile on a neighbor’s property without the owner’s permission. The fire spread into adjacent cutover woodland but quick response by Dacusville Fire Department kept damage to a minimum.
McConnell was booked into the Pickens County Detention Center. A bond hearing will be scheduled for Friday afternoon.
