Press Release:

  Columbia, S.C., May 5, 2008 –

The Office of Regulatory Staff (ORS) encourages consumers to celebrate Drinking Water Week, proclaimed by Governor Sanford, during May 4th through 11th, 2008. This coincides with National Drinking Water Week, sponsored by the American Water Works Association (AWWA).

The ORS regulates private, investor-owned water and wastewater utilities in South Carolina. According to ORS Executive Director Dukes Scott, “This week offers all of us – consumers and providers of drinking water – the opportunity to reflect on our fortunate position of having a safe and reliable supply of drinking water and also to think about ways to preserve and conserve water resources.”
