COLUMBIA, SC – The summer meeting of the South Carolina Ag Council is scheduled for Thursday, August 16, 2007. The topic will be the “2007 Farm Bill and How It Will Impact Agriculture in South Carolina.”

 

Speakers will be heads of various Federal and State agencies that serve rural America and agriculture, including but not limited to: Walt Douglas (Natural Resource Conservation Service), Rhonda Brandt (National Agricultural Statistics Service), Tee Miller (Rural Development), Hugh Weathers (Commissioner of Agriculture), and David Winkles (SC Farm Bureau).

 

The meeting will be held at the SC Farm Bureau, 724 Knox Abbott Drive, Cayce, SC. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by the meeting at 10:00 a.m.

 

Friends and guests are welcomed and encouraged. Anyone who has an interest in SC Agriculture does not want to miss this enlightening and engaging meeting.

 

Deadline for advanced reservations of $8 for Ag Council members is Thursday, August 13th. Registration at the door or for non-members is $12 per person. The registration fee includes a catered lunch.
