MANNING, SC – The inaugural Pig Tales Festival and Barbecue Cook-off will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on October 6 in the Municipal Parking Lot and Church and Boyce Streets in Manning, SC.
Twenty cookers will prepare their secret recipes for mouth-watering, finger-licking good barbecue in hopes of winning one of three prizes - 1st prize - $1,000, 2nd prize - $300, and 3rd prize - $200. Each of the top three winners will also receive a trophy for their effort. In addition to the SC Barbecue Association-sanctioned barbecue cook-off, the event will feature live bluegrass music, square dancers, cloggers, tap dancers, gospel singers, choirs, and other musicians throughout the day. Barbecue will be sold by the pound, sandwich, or basket.
The “tales” portion of the festival relates to the Book Sale. Most books will cost .50 to $1. All proceeds go to the Harvin Clarendon County Library.
