CLEMSON, SC – The Pickens County Cattlemen’s Association and the Clemson Extension Service have partnered to host the South Carolina Farm & Ranch EXPO. The EXPO will be held at the T. Ed Garrison Arena in Clemson, SC, on November 30, December 1 and 2, 2007.
The three-day event will feature seminars of interest not only to beef producers, but also to horse enthusiasts. Dr. Harold Hupp, Clemson Extension Livestock Specialist, will organize the seminars. Vendors will represent the items that cattlemen and horsemen need and use. Feed and animal health vendors will be on hand as well as tractors and implements needed on the farm. Visitors are expected from South Carolina, Northeast Georgia and Western North Carolina.
The South Carolina Farm & Ranch EXPO will also be fundraising for the National Cattle Foundation, a foundation of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association designed to help ranchers that have encountered natural disasters, and the American Quarter Horse Foundation’s therapeutic riding program to help children with handicaps. The event will also feature a “Jail and Bail.” Local “celebrities” will be “arrested,” placed in “jail,” and “bailed” out by their friends. All of the proceeds from the “Jail and Bail” will be donated to these charities.
