Columbia Market Registers Farmers and Vendors
The Columbia State Farmers Market is now registering all farmers and vendors using the market for the 2007 produce season. Farmers who are registered will be able to lease stalls for the summer season.

COLUMBIA - The Columbia State Farmers Market is now registering all farmers and vendors using the market for the 2007 produce season. Farmers who are registered will be able to lease stalls for the summer season. Additionally, registered farmers will be entitled to farmer rates if they are paying on a daily basis.

All users of the Columbia Market will be required to register on an annual basis. Non-farmers who sell at the market will also be required to have valid business licenses from Richland County. Non-farmers will be able to register as Farmer Representatives, Wholesalers/Resellers, and Retailers.

These changes along with a new fee schedule go into effect on May 1, 2007.

Farmers who register will also receive an application to participate in the South Carolina Department of Agriculture’s new branding and marketing program which is designed to encourage consumers to ask for and buy South Carolina produce.
