STATE TREASURER CONVERSE CHELLIS RETURNS $100,000 TO STATE AT BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD MEETING
(Columbia, SC)...State Treasurer Converse Chellis today returned to the General Fund $100,000 out of the Treasurer's Office current year appropriations. While serving only 53 days in office, Chellis has identified ways to make the operation of the office more effective and efficient.
"We must all do what we can to hold the line on spending," said Chellis adding, "Cutting waste and making our government more effective and efficient
will be a priority of mine."
Treasurer Chellis directed the money be used to fund key priority spending needs, or be used for taxpayer relief.
