Catered events at the South Carolina State Museum just went from “special” to “extra special” thanks to a partnership recently inked between Dupre Dukes Signature Catering and the museum.
“The partnership with Signature Catering as our exclusive daytime caterer as well as our preferred caterer for evening events enables us to offer many more options,” said Scottie Ash, State Museum director of revenue. “In addition to catering, they also will operate our Crescent Café.”
The Crescent Café is located on the museum’s second floor mezzanine and offers sandwiches, soups and salads as well as baked goods and fresh fudge, made on-site.
Dupre Dukes Signature Catering is known for its smartly-themed receptions and menus like the one it recently created around a World War II theme for the museum. “The folks at Dupre Dukes are highly creative in the area of themed events. They have tremendous capabilities,” Ash said. She added that Signature Catering will bring a wide variety of catering options to visitors who rent the museum’s facilities for special events.
A joint business venture, Dupre Dukes Signature Catering is owned by Columbia restaurateur Bill Dukes and caterer Dupre Percival of Catering by Dupre.
“The museum is a great asset in a great location. It’s affordable and it works. We are excited about being a partner with the State Museum,” Percival said.
Museum guests can expect an expanded selection of catered options from Signature Catering, which will be housed in a 2,000-square-foot kitchen and state-of-the-art center off Bluff Road. In addition, the company owns two large mobile “Rollin’ Kitchens” with the capability of feeding thousands of people at special outdoor events.
